Cowork conversations produce a record on the Anthropic side, but the legal-grade audit trail a firm needs has to be maintained inside the firm's matter-management system. We recommend that every Cowork interaction touching a matter gets logged in the matter file with the prompt summary, the AI output summary, the attorney's review notes, and the time-billed allocation. Firms running on Clio, MyCase, or PracticePanther should treat AI-assisted work as a tracked workflow inside the existing system, not as a separate AI-only record.
