Videoblog: Nature Gets It. Capitalism Doesn’t?
I’m supposed to be unplugging. I’m up here in the mountains of Young, Arizona—helping my mom downsize, spending time with my kids, trying to be off. But here I am, out of breath, dodging trucks, talking to my phone about capitalism and how weird it feels to step away from work. Last night I skipped the to-do list and played this game with my kids out in the dark, chasing each other through the trees. It was amazing. But this morning? Guilt. I should’ve done that data import. I should’ve sent that message. And that’s the point. Nature runs in cycles. Rest is part of the process. But somehow, we’ve built a system that punishes us for stepping out of “productive mode” for even one night. Just sharing some thoughts from up here in the woods. No pitch. No CTA. Just… maybe something to think about.
